After months of development and testing finally OutVeo 2.06 is ready and I’m certain you’re going to be very happy with the powerful new features on offer.

The biggest addition is the introduction of our very first “Extension”. These are add on features that extend OutVeo beyond what you already have, they’re totally optional for you to use and are all accessed from the new Extensions drop down menu.

With that said here’s how to update to OutVeo 2.06 along with a description and screenshots of all the new features…

How do you know which version of OutVeo you have?

Login to the admin area then look in the bottom right corner of any page. You’ll then see the version number there. If you see version 2.051 or lower you’ll need to update, if you see 2.06 you’re all set and don’t need to do anything.

How to update to version 2.06:

Click the blue button below

1. Unzip the .zip file

2 and 3. Upload its contents to your OutVeo site’s “outveo” folder replacing/overwriting the previous installation of OutVeo. You only need to overwrite the files, DO NOT overwrite the folder.

4. Update your database by loading this page into your browser: admin.upgrade.php
(If you don’t do this you will get an error message when you login to admin).

5. Go to your OutVeo admin login page. 

6. Login to the admin area then look at the bottom right hand corner of any page to check the version number.

If the version number above is the same as yours then you’re all set!

OutVeo Extensions

Within the new “Extensions” menu item you’ll find a demo of the logo rebrander. You can use this to add your logo to both the admin and staff members areas of your OutVeo installation.

With this upgrade to version 2.06 you get a fully working demo so you can try it out before you decide to buy. It’s not a time limited demo so  you can try it out for as long as you like.

The idea behind having some features given to you as extensions is if you don’t want to use them you don’t have to pay for them. Extensions will always be optional “extras” that will not prevent you from using or getting the very most from the “core” OutVeo features you use every day.

In the screenshot below you’ll see the features included within the logo rebrander, it’s very simple to use and full instructions are included… You can try out the demo for as long as you like. In the demo mode your logo is only temporarily applied to replace the OutVeo logo.

When you’re ready to get the full license, click the order button and complete your payment then enter the domain name where you have OutVeo installed. All that’s left to do is logout of your OutVeo, log back in again to the admin area and the rebrander will be unlocked. You’ll then be able to permanently replace the OutVeo logo in both the admin and staff areas.

Staff Availability Notice

Now you’ll be able to see at glance which of your staff members are available for more work and which ones are not.

In the staff members area your outsourced worker simply chooses their status at the top of every page. They can also include an optional note to let you know more details about their situation. Whenever their work status is changed you will automatically be sent an email.

When you check their staff member profile you’ll be able to see their availability and any notes they’ve included.

Assignment Importance Rating

With every assignment you give you can now set the level of importance.

This is especially important because now you choose if assignments should be completed sequentially or non-sequentially. This way your outsourced staff can see at a glance which assignments take priority over others and know which to work on next.

Dynamic IP Address

We found that some people using OutVeo and who are connected to the Internet with dynamically generated IP addresses were being logged out. This is due to a security feature of OutVeo that was seeing the IP address change then logging users out. We have added this new feature to the settings page that offers a different kind of security and resolves this issue.

Assignment Sequence

In previous versions of OutVeo your staff members had to complete their assignments in the sequence you set for them. Only when one assignment is completed does the next assignment become active. On the admin settings page you now have a choice with a non-sequential option. This gives your outsourced staff the ability to choose which assignments to work on next.

NEW FEATURE: Logo Rebrander Extension
The logo rebrander allows you to replace the OutVeo logo with your company logo. This is our very first extension and is a fully working demo that’s a paid optional upgrade.

NEW FEATURE: Staff availability notice
Now it’s possible to see at a glance which of your staff members are available for work and which one aren’t. This also includes a notes feature so you can get more details from your workers about their availability. Every time their status changes you’re also sent an email.

NEW FEATURE: Dynamic IP address support
This is for computers or logal computer networks who use Dynamic or rotating IP addresses that change every hour. This new feature prevents you from being logged out whenever your IP address changes.

NEW FEATURE: Non-sequential or sequential assignments
This new feature controlled from the settings page makes it possible to choose how your staff members work on your projects. In previous versions of OutVeo all assignments were set to sequential, only when one assignment was completed did the next one become active. Now assignments can be worked on in any order when you choose the non-sequential setting.

NEW FEATURE: Assignment Importance Rating
You can now visually set the importance of an assignment so your staff members can see at a glance which projects are the most important. This is especially useful if you have OutVeo assignments set up for non-sequential completion.
