Within any online business there are 2 kinds of tasks that can be outsourced.
- There are those things that don’t require much skill to do
- Then there are those things that are highly skilled
When you think about it it’s kind of obvious really.
However, try defining which tasks in your business require skill and which don’t. Then ask someone else and their answer might be very different, it’s very subjective.

T - Think about your business and everything you do within it
A - Asses those tasks that make you money, those that don’t and those that can be automated
S – Systemetize and automate wherever possible
K – Keep everything else outsourced
Why is this important?
It’s important because it’s all part of understanding what to outsource and what to do yourself.
If you remember from earlier I mention you should only do things you’re both talented at and also enjoy doing. And talent is all about skill, so there’s your clue.
That being said you must outsource both things that require skill and things that don’t. And it’s smart people who hire smart people.
A great example of this is hiring a website designer to design your website for you, or a programmer to create your software. Only if you have a talent for these things AND enjoy doing them should you do them, makes sense right?
So why is it I see so many small business owners rolling up their sleeves and creating their websites themselves? (I’ll leave out the programming example as it’s even more specialised).
The reason is simple, just look at what programs you have on your computer already. You’ve probably got a graphics program and if you’ve got WordPress installed you could just buy a stock WordPress theme and have done with it.
The problem is some of these otherwise highly skilled tasks seem so easy for most people to do they “have a go” themselves. This is a big mistake that’s costing you more than you realise, if this is you.
You see a highly skilled professional isn’t only going to get this kind of work done quicker, it’ll be done 1,000 times better. And you’ll know it!
